Nigeria’s Flying Eagles defeated Burundi’s Young Swallows 1-0 in Bujumbura in a 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations second round, first leg qualifier.
Flying Eagles dominated in all aspects of the game played at the Stade Prince Louis Rwagasore on Saturday, and it took just 17 minutes for Chukwudi Agor to break the deadlock.
The Flying Eagles, made up largely of last year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup champions, and coached by Emmanuel Amuneke had won as many warm-up friendlies prior to the game.
Nigeria delegation is expected back in the country on Monday.
The return leg will be played on June 11 at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
