Striker Odion Ighalo may miss the football event of the 2016 Rio Olympics as his English Premiership club seem unwilling to release him.
Though no official statement from Watford as regards his release to play for Nigeria in Rio, Dream Team coach Samson Siasia has included Ighalo in his 35-man provisional squad.
The 27-year-old striker, who scored 15 Premier League goals in 37 matches for the Hornets last term, will miss the start of Watford’s new league campaign and his absence would be a blow for new boss Walter Mazzarri.
It was suggested that Ighalo was not interested in going to Brazil until he held talks with Siasia in London and was persuaded to get involved, according to Eat Sleep Sport.
But it is now a waiting game to see if Watford will allow him to go.
