A new Technical Director for the Super Eagles will now be appointed in August, the Nigeria Football Federation has said.
This is after the expiration of a seven-day ultimatum handed the technical committee by the executives of the NFF.
Technical Committee chairman Chris Green said work has already started to avoid the embarrassment suffered after Paul Le Guen rejected the earlier offer.
Green added that with the expiration of the mandate on July 27, every effort must be put in place to ensure it will not exceed August, even as he assured that a new approach would be adopted this time before going public with the decision.
“We will be reporting back to the board very soon, but cannot say the day; we are almost at the end of the process.
“We are taking a different approach this time but we are keeping everything to the chest because of the experience we had with Le Guen.
“As I speak with you, we have contacted the candidates, asked questions and conducted interviews and will be announcing him soon; what is left is for us to verify the information we have.”
