Nigerian tennis player Aruna Quadri reached the third round in the men’s table tennis event after beating Slovakia’s Wang Yang 4-1 in their second round fixture.
Quadri, 28, who is ranked 40th in the world, will now play Chinese Taipei’s Chuang Chih-Yuan on Monday.
The 35-year-old is ranked seventh in the world.
Funke Oshonaike and Offiong Edem lost in the women’s singles on Saturday. Oshonaike had defeated Sahakian Mariana of Lebanon 4-3 before losing 4-2 to Puerto Rico’s Adriana Diaz, while Edem defeated Fiji’s Yee Sally 4-1 before losing to 4-1 to Belarusian Pavlovich Viktoria.
