Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has returned to Stamford Bridge after helping Nigeria to a third place finish at the just concluded Rio 2016 Olympics.
The Dream Team won bronze medal in the men’s football event.
Mikel wrote on twitter on Monday that he is back to club football, relishing the experience in Brazil.
“Thank you to all the players, staff and fans for making this dream come true 🏅 🇳🇬 now back to Premier League #CFC.
“To lead this team to an Olympic medal, and make Nigerians proud – this is why I play football ❤ #DreamTeam.” He wrote on twitter on Monday.
Mikel is now set to play his first game of the season, and under Antonio Conte, after missing out on Chelsea’s last two matches.
