Japanese surgeon Takasu says angry with Dalung, to visit Nigeria

Japanese billionaire, Dr. Katsuya Takasu, who donated $390,000 to the Dream Team, is not happy with sports minister Solomon Dalung for doubting his credibility as he plans to visit Nigeria soon.

Takasu had kept his promise of making a donation to the Nigerian U23 side who suffered a terrible flight arrangement and delay in the US that saw them arrive for the Olympics in Brazil just six hours to kickoff of their first game against Japan.

Coach Samson Siasia and captain John Obi Mikel received cheques of $200,000 and $190,000 respectively after winning bronze medal in Rio.

However, sports minister Solomon Dalung was quoted as saying due process must be taken to ensure the credibility of the source of such donation.

“We need to protect our image so as not to expose the nation to an embarrassing situation if the source of the money is unclean. Due diligence demands we conduct our own private investigation to know the source of the fund to avoid any backlash in future.”

The statement has now vexed Takasu. “Tell to nigerian sports minister “Check Takasu foundation,I’m little bit angry now,” he wrote on twitter.

He added that his love and interest for Nigeria football and African medicine will make him visit the west African country someday.
