Referee Folusho Ajayi, who officiated the 2017 Nigeria Professional Football League opening game between Kano Pillars and FC IfeanyiUbah on January 14, will make a return to football duty.
The League Management Company recommended her suspension to the NFF ref committee after the incidence, but the Nigeria Referees Association defended her action.
Ajayi will be in charge of the Week 4 game between Gombe United and Plateau United at the Pantami Stadium.
Folusho was originally scheduled to referee the tie between Abia Warriors and Enyimba, but was reassigned to Gombe following concerns raised by the League Management Company, Sportdaylive can report.
That concern saw NFF Referees Committee move Ajayi to the north.
It could be recalled that the opening game of the current NPFL season was not concluded as the tie was abandoned three minutes into the second half following protest by FC IfeanyiUbah over poor calls by the ref. Host Kano Pillars was leading 1-0 at the time.
Three points and three goals were later awarded to Pillars, and FC IfeanyiUbah incurred a N9 million fine amidst other sanctions.
