Samson Siasia’s Dream Team suffered a 1-0 defeat in the hands of hosts South Korea in their first game of the Suwon Invitational Tournament on Thursday.
Goal from Choi Kyu-baek, with four minutes left to play, secured all three points for the Asian team.
Despite the threats posed by Taiwo Awoniyi and Erhun Obanor to the defense of their opponent, the Samson Siasia side failed to find the back of the net in several occasions.
In the other game of the day, Denmark beat Honduras 4-3.
Nigeria will hope to bounce back in their next two games against Denmark and Honduras.
The Suwon Invitational Tournament is part of Nigeria’s preparation for the football event at the Rio 2016 Olympics in August.
