Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club FC IfeanyiUbah has accepted the fine imposed by the League Management Company for abandoning their week one game against Kano Pillars on Saturday.
FC IfeanyiUbah was charged on a four count of breach of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Rules and Framework and consequently issued a Summary Jurisdiction Notice by the LMC for which the club has been handed a suspended sentence of deduction of a total of eight points should the breach occur again. This is in addition of forfeiture of the three points and three goals from the match and fines totaling N9, 150, 000.
An official of the club, Jonathan Igwe and the Coach, Yaw Preko were also served sanction notices just as the LMC also made recommendation for review of the performance of the match officials by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
FC IfeanyiUbah on Tuesday said it has accepted sanctions of the LMC
“Re: @LMCNPFL Summary Decision In total submission to the jurisdiction of sporting authorities in Nigeria and with total commitment to the growth of the Nigeria Professional Football League, we hereby accept the sanctions imposed on us as contained in your letter dated 16th January, 2017 and will not be lodging any form of appeal against the decision of the LMC,” it wrote on twitter.
“We pledge to abide by same and submit totally to the summary jurisdiction of the @LMCNPFL
“We regret any inconvenience caused by our actions & commit to abide by the Framework & Rules of the Nigeria Professional Football League.”
