Ikorodu United will be parading a depleted team in the Lagos derby against MFM FC on Sunday due to the series of accident that rocked the first team players in the space of two days.
Ikorodu United were on June 16 involved in a ghastly auto crash on their way to honour a league game against Lobi Stars. The accident happened at about 4pm along AMA Brewery Road 9th Mile, Enugu. And the tie against the Makurdi club was postponed.
According to media manager, Babatunde Ayoola, “all players involved in the accidents had various degree of injury ranging from one week to three months recovery period. Only five players are back and fit from the series of accidents.”
He however said the Lagos Derby promises to be a massive match for the Oga Boys, the new coaching crew and the fans as they all go out for a win to boost the confidence of the team.
