Kadiri Ikhana has quit his position as Technical Adviser of Shooting Stars Sports Club following a disgraceful 4-0 loss to Wikki Tourists in a matchday 17 fixture of the Nigeria Premier League on Sunday.
3SC has been struggling since the beginning of the season, losing their first game 1-0 to Lobi Stars.
Ikhana had complained about non-payment of players’ salaries and bonuses, a situation he said affects the morale and motivation of the players. He had also calling on the club management to do the right thing.
“The unimpressive state of welfare of the players in the last five months has been a great concern to me, especially as such a situation can hinder better performances.
“For now, we do not have a team. But we are working very hard on this.
“We have most of our players down. All I am seeing here is problems in the team. I appreciate this though, and we are tackling it,’’ Ikhana made this disclosure to newsmen in Ibadan after his team defeated Giwa Football Club of Jos 2-1 in a week five game of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Ikhana parted ways with Enyimba in December and later joined the Ibadan club.
