Nigeria Basketball Announces 27 Player Roster For Olympic Camp

With the training camp for the 2016 Rio Olympics around the corner, the Nigerian Basketball Federation released the Olympic preliminary roster on Tuesday. Along with the 12 returning Afrobasket champs, the roster features a strong mix of new and familiar faces. Some returnees from major competitions include Derrick Obasohan, Usman Abubukar, Josh Akognon, Ebi Ere, Ike Ofoegbu, Ekene Ibekwe, and Stanley Gumut. Golden State Warriors center Festus Ezeli and Westchester Knicks (NBA D-League) forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo headline the new eight invitees whilst former NBA lottery pick Ekpe Udoh looks to join the team after having a fine season in Turkey with Fenerbache. A specific location has not been set for training camp but it will begin in Southern California around June 27th according to coach Will Voigt. Below are the full list of invitees:
