Shooting Stars suffer Wolves defeat

Shooting Stars FC were beaten 2-1 by visiting Warri Wolves in a week 16 game of the Nigeria Premier League played on Wednesday in Ibadan.

Coming from a 2-2 draw against Plateau United on Sunday, the Oluyole Warriors succumbed to the fire power of Wolves in front of teeming fans.

King Osanga got the opener for Wolves before the visitors doubled their lead when 3SC captain Izu Joseph was beaten in a race for the ball by John Odumegwu who caught the keeper cold with a smart shot.

Though Najeem Olukokun pulled one back for 3SC with 15 minutes still left to play, there was no coming back for Coach Kadiri Ikhana’s men who also lost their first game of the season to Lobi Stars at the Adamasingba stadium.

With the home loss on Wednesday, Shooting Stars remain in 17th position with 17 points from 16 matches while on their part the away win has taken Wolves to 9th spot on the log.
