Plateau United defeated table toppers Wikki Tourist 2-0 in a Match Day 24 tie of the Nigeria Professional Football League played at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos.
Two second half goals from two substitutes Daddy Francis and Anayo Ogbonna ensured all three points for the home side.
Plateau United dominated the game from the blast of the whistle, but the visitors did well to avoid conceding, at least not in the first half.
After the break, Plateau United new their dominance will not earn them points, except goals, and coach Zachary Baraje made two quick changes that later paid off.
Daddy Francis was thrown in to replace Joshua Obaje and five minutes later he was celebrating a goal. The attacker sweetly controlled in the box, before slotting past Emeka Nwabulu for United’s first goal in the 70th minute.
The second goal came off the boot of another substitute Anayo Ogbonna eight minutes later. A well taken effort.
Wikki still maintain the top spot on the log despite their loss, while Plateau United, 18th on the log, now has 26 points from 32 games.
